Several times a year, I have the rare privilege of going on the roof of some of the highest buildings of Gatineau and Ottawa. These places are not open to the public, so I appreciate the privilege given to me and even more so because it gives me the opportunity to take some unique photos of the National Capital. My favourite time of the year on these buildings is on Canada Day. Trust me, among the thousands people looking at the fireworks that day, I have no doubt the best view. Sometimes, I even get a bonus: last year, for instance, I got to see a rainbow and a stunning moon. I could not believe my luck. It rained almost everywhere around me that day except where I was. The conditions were therefore perfect for me to take some unforgettable photos. The first photo shows a landscape of Ottawa. On the right, we see the Parliament Buildings and on the left, a rainbow. |

In the first row of three photos of this gallery, we see on the left, the National Gallery of Canada and the Alexandra Bridge. The middle image shows the Museum of Civilization and the image on the right the War Museum. These are all interesting places to visit if you come to Ottawa for a few days. |

In this row of photos, we see on the left a shot of the Chaudière Falls and in the centre the "Terrasses de la Chaudière" building with the Ottawa River in the background. On the right we see a friend of mine, who is not afraid of heights, and some Ottawa buildings in the background. I often ask a friend to join me when I go on the roof of these buildings. Up to now, all have accepted the invitations! |

I like to take photos at night and you will probably understand why when looking at these photos. From left to right, Parliament, the Supreme Court of Canada with a splendid moon, and finally a prefect example of the fireworks on Canada Day. |

The last three are all early morning views from my office. The left image, in the foreground, you can see Confederation Building in Ottawa, and in the background the Museum of Civilization in Gatineau. The second photo shows you the roof of the new CBC building. The last photo shows roof details of the Parliament Buildings. These three photos were taken between 6 and 7 o'clock in the morning just before I started work. |
